Growing Tips & Guides

Get Started

Initial Instructions
Plant as soon as possible after receiving your allium bulbs. Plant allium in the fall in a sunny to partly sunny spot. Dig a hole with a depth of 2-3 times the diameter of the bulb (4-6”). Plant the bulb with the pointy end up. Smaller varieties can be planted 6 inches apart, while larger varieties should be spaced approximately 12 inches apart minimum. Add a little bone meal and/or bulb fertilizer to the hole. Provide plenty of water after planting.

Storing Bulbs
While we recommend planting your bulbs as soon as possible after you receive them, they can be stored for a short period in a cool, dark, dry area with good ventilation. Remove from the packaging before storing, and keep them above 39°F.
