Product Description:

Satureja douglasii Grow your own tea! Yerba Buena grows up to 6 feet long and offers aromatic foliage in a cascading green overhang. Perfect for hanging baskets or draped over a wall. Its vigorous growth makes it a good groundcover, especially once its white flowers appear in midsummer. Harvest the leaves for a delicious, caffeine-free, minty tea that can be brewed hot or cold. Hardy in zones 9 and above.

Yerba Buena plants ship at the end of April/beginning of May in 3 ½ inch pots. Order early for best availability. Detailed instructions are included with each order, and may be obtained below. Available only within the contiguous US.

This cascading aromatic herb is a creeping perennial that grows primarily in Northern California and the Bay area preferring lower elevations.

Cultivation
Yerba Buena likes space to spread and drape its long cascading foliage. This creeping ground cover prefers warm humidity and plenty of water. The plant will root itself as it spreads. Great for containers and rock gardens or a wall that it can drape over.

Pests & Diseases
The mint family is generally easy and disease resistant.

Soil Type
Loose rich, well-drained soil. Typical potting soil for containers.

Light Requirements
Bright, indirect light, dappled sun light, full sun to part shade. Avoid scorching late afternoon sun.

Bloom Time
White flowers in mid-summer.

Hardiness Zone
Hardy in zones 9 and above.
