Product Description:
Ships FREE! Winter Holiday Special - available for a limited time while supplies last. The plants will ship in 6" pots in the order received in time for the holiday season. Available only within the contiguous US. Other items in cart may incur shipping cost.
Initial Instructions
After unpacking, remove and recycle the cardboard packaging. Choose a location for your tree that is away from heat sources such as wood stoves and radiators. The best way to water is to lift the pot from the wrapper, water the tree at the sink, then return it to the decorative wrap after the excess water has drained away. Do not allow the pot to sit in water inside the decorative cover. Being in dormancy, your tree should not be fertilized. After the Holiday season this living Christmas tree can be moved outdoors in the early spring but needs to be hardened off by gradually exposing it to outdoor conditions.
Cultivation
Plant in a location with good airflow. The Alberta Spruce is deer resistant and can handle high wind, heat, and cold, and is even drought tolerant once established. There is no need for pruning. This tree doesn't thrive in climates that have really hot, humid summers.
Pests & Diseases
Not bothered by diseases, but are often the victims of spider mite attacks that can kill the tree. Treat with Insecticidal Super Soap or Spider Mite Predators if needed.
