62 days. A taste sensation, these glowing yellow Romano beans have a delicious, full flavor and a smooth, tender, stringless texture. The upright, bushy plants are lavishly covered with 4 ½–5 inch long pods that are ½ inch across. The plants proudly yield heavy crops of robustly flavored beans that exhibit their golden color even when pods are small. White seeds; 60 per ounce.

Capitano Romano beans are wonderfully flavored and productive in shorter season

The Capitanos are not getting tough yet (in mid Sept) and taste GREAT. The Musicas are more vigorously growing now and producing Way Lots, but they're a bit tough and more bland. PNW is Capitano country (even at 900ft elevation, 60F days).

Beautiful and tasty

We grew these for the first time last year. They were the first bean to bear, and as we had scattered multiple plantings of these, we were still picking these beans well past October here in Oregon. These pretty and plentiful yellow beans had all of the rich flavor of a romano, so much so we also froze these in a pasta primavera sauce we made with some of our tomatoes and other veggies. Well worth the space in our small garden and we will plant these again for sure this year.

Rich and flavorful beans are fiber-packed veggies that promote digestive health and are excellent sources of antioxidants that scavenge free radicals in the body. They are also nitrogen-fixing legumes; beans gather nitrogen from the air and load it into the soil to feed future crops.

Days to maturity are calculated from date of direct seeding.

Culture
• Beans are shallow rooted and can require up to 1/4 inch of water a day during hot weather
• Optimum soil pH is 5.5-6.5, mildly acidic
• Apply 1 cup of TSC's Complete fertilizer per 10 row feet, and 1 inch of compost

Direct Sowing
• One ounce of seed plants 12-15 row feet, 1/2 pound for 100 row feet
• Grow Pole, Runner, and Yard Long beans on trellises

• Store at 40-45°F and 95% relative humidity
