Not like the picture - expensive for what you get

To start, I'm keeping the two I bought, but would not buy more at the asking price. The picture on Territorial's website sold me... nice looking quality well cut wood on evenly balanced trellises. What I got in the box was shabby wood with splinters, cracks, and defects. Why am I keeping them? Because they still look strong enough to hold the beans I plan to support on them. We shall see. I'll likely add some twine between the rungs to give the plants a little more to hold onto.

For anyone with the tools and skillset, you could duplicate this with a few inexpensive 1" x 2" boards and some 1 1/2" screws from your local hardware store to make sturdier trellises at a much lower price. Will chalk this up as a lesson learned and will use a similar design to make my own in the future.

Don't waste your money

These looked really nice in the picture and the description makes you think they are well made and sturdy. But they were a huge disappointment. These are probably worth $10. They are so flimsy and small. I truly feel ripped off and deceived. Please don't waste your money like I did!

Works Well

The four trellises were easy to assemble. The instructions could have been better, and I recommend full-color instructions in the future. My peas and beans climbed the trellises with no issues. The top "hinge" is a simple wire, which works, but a true piano hinge would be better and more sturdy. I plan to add fir strips to join the trellises into larger units for next season. This will make them less susceptible to being blown over, which is an issue in the Mid-Columbia basin.

Like the look

I was a little disturbed when I opened the box to realize the size of the wood. When I got them out finally--I ordered earlier this year--I looked at the instructions/hardware/and wood. I did have to stop and think about everything before attempting assembly but, being a wife of a service member and over 65, I have learned how to do repairs. When I actually put the pair together, it didn't take very long. I just used jute twine to provide the "ladder" up to the next rung. I put about 6-8 strands for my peas to climb up and will add more if needed.
I ordered the 48" set and am considering ordering the taller set. They look very nice in my container garden. I have never had any product made of fir so don't know how long they will last. I hope over a year.
