55-65 days. The pinnacle of quality and flavor! Hickok’s straight, 6 inch long, deep green, stringless beans taste very fresh and sweet with floral overtones and a mellow green bean flavor. Healthy, uniform, 20 inch tall plants provide a strong canopy of foliage to protect the beans, which hang down under the leaves for easy picking by the handfuls. Super Green Bean

While not the first to be ready to pick, Hickok comes on with a strong crop of fantastic beans that hold on the plant for quite a while. They are thick and delicious. We plant several plantings throughout the summer for a continuous harvest.

Absolutely delicious!

I love thin French green beens, and these are delicious when picked pencil thin. I happened to be out of town for 5 days and my beans needed to be picked while I was gone. I was very pleasantly surprised that even the slightly larger beans were stringless, tender & crunchy while being free of a big bean inside! I love picking a handful of beans at a time.

Best bean I have grown.

As other reviewers have written, the Hickok is a top producer of long, straight and tender beans. I start some early in my greenhouse in a big pot and take them outside when the weather warms. Since I get buried in them my neighbors also enjoy.

Rich and flavorful beans are fiber-packed veggies that promote digestive health and are excellent sources of antioxidants that scavenge free radicals in the body. They are also nitrogen-fixing legumes; beans gather nitrogen from the air and load it into the soil to feed future crops.

Days to maturity are calculated from date of direct seeding.

Culture
• Beans are shallow rooted and can require up to 1/4 inch of water a day during hot weather
• Optimum soil pH is 5.5-6.5, mildly acidic
• Apply 1 cup of TSC's Complete fertilizer per 10 row feet, and 1 inch of compost

Direct Sowing
• One ounce of seed plants 12-15 row feet, 1/2 pound for 100 row feet
• Grow Pole, Runner, and Yard Long beans on trellises

• Store at 40-45°F and 95% relative humidity
