I bought two sets for myself and one for a gardening friend. It was such a brilliant idea to make the bottom section of the seed pots clear so you can watch the growth. It also helps you know when it’s time to transplant. What a great idea!
If you’re growing multiple flats of vegetables or flowers for a large garden this tray may not be the best option, but it has worked well for me. The one tray grew all my sweet and hot pepper plants for the season. Then I started a second basil and cilantro seeding. I like the tray so much I bought a second to pair them in a 10x20 tray. The tray I used for the peppers washed up like new so I’ll keep using it for herbs through the season. The tray handles are a handy feature.
I was looking to replace my old seedling starter trays and came across these. I ordered two sets of the mint green. So far, they're working wonderfully. All of the pieces are quite sturdy and were very easy to assemble. (I don't understand the review stating they were difficult to assemble at all, as it was quite simple and very quick.) I also like that they're a bit bigger than the 72 cell trays I used previously - these new ones will allow the seedlings to grow a bit bigger before I need to transplant them. If they continue to work so well, I plan to get rid of the rest of my old trays and replace them with these.
I really like this try and it's perfect for someone who is a home gardener and wants to plant a smaller amount of sees, not a big trayof dozens. The handles are great. One thing, though, is the lack of a clear dome to keep the moisture in while germinating. In general, very well made. Just missing that one thing.
