Product Description:

64 days. The earliest and most true mini Napa cabbage. Wa Wa Tsai reaches only 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide, has a barrel-shaped, dense head with a sweet, tender crunch. Dense Heads, Grows Quickly

Harvested my first WaWaTsai cabbage today and I am so impressed! It grew very well in zone 6b and the cabbage, after removing any bad leaves, weighed 3lbs!

Fast Growing, Good Flavor

Western Washington, Zone 8b. Very fast-growing, forming dense heads with mild flavor. Great for fall planting and overwintering in the garden.

growing well and delicious

I am in zone 8b Texas. I planted Wa wa Tsai indoor, I transplanted on the ground with just soil and rabbit manure from our property (no store bought soil). It grew well, it has beautiful big green leaves and I harvested last week for our stir fry. It was delicious. Today, we harvest again this Wa wa Tsai. I am pleased with the seed from Territorial seed. Thank you Territorial seed.

Days to maturity are calculated from date of direct seeding.

Culture
• Chinese cabbage is a cool season crop that performs best in spring and fall in a wide range of soil types
• Young plants exposed to temperature fluctuations can result in bolting
• Apply 1 cup of TSC's Complete fertilizer per 5 row feet, and 1 inch of compost

Direct Sowing
• For a spring crop, sow after the danger of frost
• Fall crops can be sown July—mid-August

Transplanting
• For a spring crop, start 4-5 weeks before anticipated transplant date
• Fall crops can be started from June to mid-July and set out when there are 4-5 true leaves

Insects & Diseases
• Common insects: Flea and cucumber beetles, slugs, earwigs
• Insect control: Pyrethrin or row covers at planting, Cabbage Collars for slugs
• Disease prevention: 5-7 year crop rotation

Harvest & Storage
• Harvest heads as soon as mature to avoid bolting
• Store at 36°F and 95% relative humidity
