Beneficial Nematodes Work

For years my garden has been plagued by ever increasing orange wire worm damage. My plants were dying. Eggplants had and orange squirming masses of worms on their roots. Three applications in early summer did the job. The horrible worms decreased rapidly and soon disappeared. Garden production soared. I will start every summer with Nematodes. Also, Territorial Seeds shipped them in a very fast and careful manner with easy to follow instructions.

Beneficial Nematodes Seem to be Doing Good Job

Three deliveries over a month’s time were done very well and the application in the soil is easy. I was having terrible problems with wire worms devouring plant roots. The garden looks much much better but the benefit is all going on underground so hard to see. I will no more when I dig more. So far have seen only one wire worm compared with many before. The plants certainly look better. I’ll write again this Fall.

Battling leaf miner

I live in the Beaverton area and leaf miner is a problem for beets and Swiss chard. Neem oil is some help but nematodes seems to be more effective. I follow the directions and wait till the temperature is right and make sure the soil is wet.
In the past I have lost a third of the crop to leaf miner. Not now.
