Ribes rubrum Gloire des Sablons is a pink currant valued for its large, gorgeous berries. The fruit are light-streaked rose to pink blush with golden hues on a completely transparent skin and beautifully capture the light during its long fruiting season. This rare, French heirloom produces abundant crops of tart and flavorful fruit good for fresh eating, adorning cakes, charcuterie boards or in fresh arrangements. The compact, woody shrub reaches 3-5 feet and blooms in early spring followed by fruit in late summer/early fall. Great for containers, self-fertile and hardy in zones 3-8.

Initial Instructions
Upon arrival the shrubs will be bareroot and dormant. Moisten them slightly with some regular water and place in a cool damp area until ready to plant outdoors. It’s best to plant the currants while still dormant and space them 2-4 feet apart.
