PEPINEX

PEPINEX

Product Description:

65-70 days. Flawless and refined, Pepinex produces premium English-type cucumbers on productive plants. These slender, long, straight fruits have a clean, nearly sweet flavor, and not a trace of bitterness. Reaching 12–14 inches long, they have just a hint of ribbing, and an exquisitely smooth, dark green, thin skin that saves you the need to peel. Performs just as well in a greenhouse as it does in the garden. MO. IR: DM, PM.

Weakest of my cucumber varieties

Seeds took forever to come up and seedlings took longer than other cucumber varieties to get going. Was a bad year for cucumber beetles in my NH garden but I didn't get a single fruit before this one succumbed to cucumber beetle damage.

Extremely Disappointing

I was so excited to grow these cukes but just as they were starting to fruit, the leaves just dried up and plant died. The Dragon Suhyo cuke that I planted in same row of high tunnel is doing fabulous. Not sure what got the Pepinex but I won’t be wasting my time on it again.

2 years in a row now, best cuke in the garden

Performs really well in the PNW. It also seems to be pest resistant or less attractive. I believe my problem critter is the BMSB nymphs. I have multiple varieties every year, but these aren't bothered until everything else is dead. These are also the cukes my kids take first for their own snacks

Favorite cucumber!!!

I grew these last year and was so happy. Really productive long fruit with skin just tough enough to withstand the slugs, but thin enough that peeling is not needed. The flavor is always sweet and doesn't get bitter even around the seeds. I got 5-7 cucumbers a week all summer off of 2 plants. I'm planting again this year.
