MASON BEES

MASON BEES

Product Description:

10 bees. Bees start shipping approximately late January/early February (while supplies last). Refrigerator storage and humidity is necessary until proper time for hatching in your area. Instructions included. Sorry, not available to HI or Canada.

Blue Orchard Mason Bees are gentle, rarely sting and are easy to raise. They are one of the first emerging bees in spring, just in time to coincide with early blooming fruit and nut trees. These energetic little bees do not produce honey and do not swarm; they simply flit from flower to flower, gathering and distributing pollen. Hatching, pollinating, laying 30-35 eggs and dying all within 6-8 weeks in early spring through early June. These busy little bees do not live in hives, but are cavity nesting bees, meaning they want to place pollen and nectar into a hole and then lay an egg on that mass. Our Mason Bee nesting accessories are an easy way to help these pollinators live on, making your garden more productive and beautiful every year.

Raising Blue Orchard Mason Bees can be easy and rewarding. Mason bees will travel up to 300 feet for food before relocating to a new home, so place their home near their food source: fruit or nut trees, native flowering plants and any open-faced flowers. Harvest the cocoons in the fall and store them in the refrigerator, adding a cotton ball moistened with sugar water every few weeks to maintain proper humidity.

Ordered later for garden pollinators

All bees were alive and active when we received them. We ordered later in season for garden due to short growing season. Great little pollinators.

Hatching issues

I would love to give these 5 stars but only half hatched. I ordered 20 the first time and then 10 the second time thinking I'd done something wrong. No. Only half hatched. Pretty expensive for 50% success rate. Not up to Territorial standards. A bit disappointed.

So sorry to hear that! As always, our products are backed by our full guarantee. We want you, our customers, to be 100% satisfied with the seed, plants and supplies that you purchase from us. If anything you buy from Territorial proves to be unsatisfactory, we will either replace the item (if available) or refund the purchase price, whichever you prefer (for up to 1 year from purchase). You can also reach out to us for any troubleshooting! Contact our customer service (Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM Pacific Time) at either 800-626-0866 or info@territorialseed.com

Mason Bees

I got my mason bees later then I wanted. But they came and they were already hatching on the trip here because the package got waylaid. So I didn’t get any bees that have made it into my bee house. Very disappointing and I had
hoped to have cocoons this fall.
