Filderkraut Cabbage
(OP) 160 days. One of the more unique cabbages that we offer. This arrow-shaped variety was bred for the cold regions of Europe so that self-reliant gardeners could make wholesome batches of sauerkraut for winter consumption. Raw sauerkraut is an extremely healthful food; an excellent source of vitamin C and other nutrients. Sauerkraut has good keeping qualities which makes it a vital source of these nutrients during winter. The 28 inch tall plant supports a green head that is 6 inches across at the base by 12 inches tall coming to a striking point. Grating is made easy by grabbing the blunt end and starting at the point.
